Ch…ch… ch… changes afoot at Sympatico In this new year I’m making changes in how I work.

Have you made New Year’s resolutions? If you have, I hope they’re working out well for you.
I am in the midst of a resolution to change a few things about how I work. I’ve decided that I need more active time and less long bouts of sitting, and have been working on making this a regular practice in my life for some time now.

Though I continue to love sewing and intend to keep stitching as long as I am able, long stretches of sitting can take their toll. So these days I’m spending less time doing production cutting and sewing and more time creating clothes to order. That means Sympatico will have less inventory on hand and I’ll be doing more cutting and sewing to fill specific orders. I plan to introduce a new color in late spring so please stay tuned and know that I will do my best to anticipate which styles and sizes to sew.

I’m also deepening my exploration in the art of dyeing and love that it combines color, chemistry and natural textiles. And with dyeing, there’s more time spent up and moving around as opposed to sitting at sewing machines. You’ll find my latest artisan-made scarf collection here.
One of the enormous benefits of my work is the fascinating connections I’ve made over the past 19 years with Sympatico customers and fellow artisans. So please stay in touch and let me know when you need some Sympatico creations.
